Celebrating Diversity #12This edition of Celebrating Diversity I want to focus on two extremes of art: Extremely detailed and realistic works and minimal and abstract art. Both tendencies or trends have their place and time in art and history and are appreciated by many people. Not always does one person like both, but to me personally, art has always been more about feeling, than about complexity. Something simple can touch me emotionally as well as something blasting with details. Art is just as individual as every human being!

Celebrating Diversity #13In this issue of Celebrating Diversity, I would like to remind you of an amazing feeling...when you see a piece of art created in a medium or genre that you have little or no experience of working in, and it feels like you're witnessing something magical, something beyond your comprehension.
It's wonderful to revel in the joy of How do they do that? and find inspiration in the creations of other artists. So I challenge you to take a step outside of the galleries that you regularly browse and immerse yourself in the experience of indulging in something new.

Celebrating Diversity #3Hello, everyone!
When we don't see enough of a particular art form, it is difficult for us to understand or appreciate it. This project aims to bring you features that you might not have seen otherwise from a variety of galleries around dA. For example, I tend to live and breathe photomanipulations and (to a lesser extent) digital art, and I really enjoyed taking a moment to browse the non-photomanipulation galleries for treasures. I found many, and I hope you will enjoy the features I have chosen.

Traditional Tuesdays #49 Holy shit! This is the forty-ninth week of this little article, and I can honestly say that I didn't think it would last this long. The night I started this feature, I was bored and just browsing around the Traditional Gallery. I was finding all kinds great artwork, that for one reason or another I couldn't/wouldn't give a DD. It could be because they had a DD recently, but mainly it was for a link to go back and see what they created next, and if they took it to the next level. Now it's more for artwork that I no longer have time to DD, I can't DD everything! I still find the article fun to do, and I'll keep doing it until it no longer is. So.... here is fifteen works of art that I thought you should see. I don't trust all of you all with anymore awesomeness, you might hurt yourself! Anyway, on with the show!

Not So Traditional Tuesdays #10This little feature is now into the double digits of editions

. This wasn't something I that had I planned on doing. Originally this was just a one off article because I was bored one day, and started typing in random search words. It is still fun to do though, so I think it will keep going until it no longer is.
The things that make one piece of art great applies, for the most part, to other genres. A painter can
learn how light and shadow fall from photography, photo-manipulators can learn about composition from a great Manga drawing, and literature can give you the inspiration to try something new or take your work to the next step. You may never try all art forms you see! You can however take what you learn from them and incorporate that into your own work. It could be the difference between stagnating and that breakthrough every artist wants to find! Now on with the show!

What is art?

I can assure you that the answer I've chosen for myself is probably not the answer that works for you.

Regardless of the differences our backgrounds and experiences bring to the table there are some universals that pop up across media and eras and what have you.

This time, I've chosen 16 pieces that somehow incorporate the human form.

Why we are Celebrating DIVERSITY!

This ongoing series of Art Features has been created to celebrate the huge diversity of submissions to dA. No gallery on dA is better than the other, they are only different.

Differences are good and healthy, they make our world colorful and enjoyable. It is good that we all have different and unique tastes and we should celebrate that! Instead of scorning something that is different, we have to accept, tolerate and appreciate it and the fact that it enrichens the world with yet another thing
